Urine infections

Urinary tract infections (UTIs)

What are urine infections?

Urine infections occur when bugs grow in the urine and invade the wall of the urinary tract.  They can affect any where in the urinary tract (bladder kidney, prostate or waterpipe). Urine infections can cause symptoms such burning passing urine, pain and blood in the urine. They can also cause you to feel sick and develop a fever.

How we can help

We will discuss your symptoms and medical history with you, examine you and do some tests including urine analysis, ultrasound scanning. We may also suggest urine flow rate measurement and  a camera inspection of the bladder (cystsocopy). We will discuss the findings of the tests and make a treatment plan to prevent further infections
